In breve.
1. Titolare del trattamento
Paolo Varano, Italia
Contatto per la privacy: paolo.varano@yahoo.it
4. Consenso e come cambiarlo
6.1.a GDPR e art. 6.1.f GDPR), come descritto nelle sue norme.
9. I tuoi diritti
Privacy Policy
App: GRIDBORN for Android (application id com.neomobile.gridborn) · Last updated: 9 October 2026
In short. GRIDBORN has no accounts and does not collect personal data: your career, settings and records stay on your phone. We only count, anonymously, how many times the game is opened each hour. If you choose to use Google Play Games, your best race times and your Play Games profile are processed by Google to show the leaderboards. The game is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob; to do this Google processes some device data, according to the consent choices you make in the game.
1. Data controller
Paolo Varano, Italy
Privacy contact: paolo.varano@yahoo.it
2. Data that stays on your device (not collected by us)
The game stores, in a local file in the app's private storage, your career progress, in-game money, upgrades, story choices, lap records and settings (language, volumes, controls). This data is not sent to us or to any third party, is not used to identify you and is deleted when you uninstall the app or start a new career. There is no sign-up, no chat and no in-app purchase. World leaderboards are optional and work only through Google Play Games (see the next point).
2 bis. World leaderboards: Google Play Games
If you have a Google Play Games profile and have not declined sign-in, GRIDBORN can sign in to Play Games and submit your best times (best lap and race time of campaign races and time trials) to the world leaderboards. The data involved is your Play Games player ID, your Play Games profile name and avatar and the times submitted. This data is processed by Google, not by us: GRIDBORN has no servers of its own and does not receive or store it. If you have no Play Games profile or you decline sign-in, nothing is sent and the game stays complete and playable offline. More information: Google Privacy Policy. You can manage or delete your Play Games profile and its associated data (including scores) from the Play Games settings or from your Google account (Data & privacy).
2 ter. Anonymous launch count
When you open the game (or come back to it after at least 5 minutes) the app sends a single request that adds 1 to a counter for the current hour (for example “9 October 2026, 15:00: 7 launches”), stored on Google Cloud Firestore in our Firebase project, located in the European Union. The request contains no identifier of the device or the user, no game data, version or location, and nothing is stored on the phone. We keep only the hourly totals, which cannot be traced back to anyone. As with any internet connection, Google's server technically receives the IP address in order to answer the request: we do not log or receive it. It is used only to know how much the game is played (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Without a connection nothing is sent.
3. Advertising: Google AdMob
GRIDBORN shows a banner in the menus and, sometimes, a full-screen ad after you tap “Continue” at the end of a race (never while driving or paused). From the race list you can also choose to watch an optional reward video to get in-game credits (up to 5 a day): the reward is stored only on your phone and no video is ever required. Ads are provided by Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC through the Google Mobile Ads SDK, acting as an independent controller or, for some activities, as a processor. The SDK may process:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Android advertising ID and other device and app identifiers | Serving and measuring ads, frequency capping, fraud prevention; personalised ads only with your consent |
| IP address and approximate location derived from it | Choosing ads suited to your country and language, security and fraud prevention |
| Technical information (model, operating system, language, network) | Compatibility and correct display of ads |
| Interactions with ads (impressions, taps) | Performance measurement and advertiser billing |
| SDK diagnostics (crashes and performance) | Operating and improving the ad service |
More information: Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses information from partner apps · Data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
4. Consent and how to change it
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form (an IAB TCF certified consent management platform) is shown on first launch. You can accept, refuse or choose individual purposes: the game stays complete if you refuse; in that case ads, where allowed, are not personalised. You can review your choices at any time in the game: Home › Privacy › “Manage privacy options”. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings (Settings › Google › Ads).
5. Legal bases
Storing and accessing information on the device and personalised ads rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and the ePrivacy rules). For non-personalised ads, essential measurement and fraud prevention Google may rely on its legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), as described in its policies. Data kept only on your device involves no processing by us.
6. App permissions
Internet and network state: only to load ads and the consent form, for the anonymous launch count and, if you use Google Play Games, the leaderboards; the game also works offline. Advertising ID (AD_ID) and Android ad services (Privacy Sandbox: ad ID, attribution and topics, where available): required by Google's SDK to show and measure ads; you can manage them in Settings › Security & privacy › Ads privacy. Wake lock and foreground service: declared by Google's libraries to complete background work safely. Vibration: haptic effects, can be switched off in Settings. The game does not access contacts, photos, microphone, camera or GPS location.
7. Retention and transfers
Local data stays until you uninstall the app or start a new career. Data processed by Google is kept according to Google's retention policy and may be transferred outside the European Union with the safeguards required by the GDPR (standard contractual clauses and adequacy decisions, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
8. Children
GRIDBORN does not ask for personal data and does not knowingly collect data from children. Consent to personalised ads must not be given by children under the age of digital consent in their country (14 in Italy) without the holder of parental responsibility. If you believe a child has given consent, contact us and we will help you reset it.
9. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability (Arts. 15–22 GDPR) and you may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. As we keep no data that identifies you, for advertising data you can also act directly with Google (My Ad Center). You can lodge a complaint with your data protection authority; in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
10. Changes
Any change will be published on this page with a new “last updated” date; significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
